Black inner-city youth are often believed to be violent predators; hopeless criminals that need to be locked up.  But what if that is not true?  What if they are actually prey?  Through the eyes of Shawn, an African American young man from Philly, we are exposed to a frequently ignored perspective.  At 17 years of age, he is challenged with the realization that the system has failed him.  Now, angry, confused and lost, he begins to worry about his future.  He knows he must do something different, but what?  In the midst of searching for a solution, he runs into a former classmate—Deion.  Rumor has it, Deion dropped out of school and started selling drugs.  Shawn refuses to believe that someone as smart as Deion would do such a stupid thing.  After a few chance encounters, Deion shares something with Shawn that changes his life forever.
